Flatbush Farm

Lori and I ate at Flatbush Farm last night and our entrees were truly amazing. We both had vegetarian morning and evenings so were all about meat for dinner. I had LI Duck, which was grilled (i think), and served over this crazy-amazing pile of goodness which I believe included several kinds of long-temmed mushrooms, roasted winter squash, huge dried cranberries, brussel sprouts leaves, all on top of a delicious foundation of polenta. The duck was cooked perfectly medium to medium rare, and everything else was just awesome.

It was way too dark in there to take any pictures, (plus i think I'm starting to annoy the pants of Lori for constantly taking pictures of food), so you'll have to trust me it looked amazing too. I've never thought to just serve brussel sprout leaves.... the loose leaves that fall off when i'm cooking brussels at home are always my favorite part though, so I'm trying this next time i see some good looking sprouts.

Lori had a grass-fed strip steak that looked amazing, though was served with Chestnuts so I had to steer clear of it. I'm guessing that will now be her new plan... always order the thing with nuts so Bill won't eat her leftovers that night!

Dessert kinda sucked though... surprising for such a great meal otherwise. Don't get the cobbler! But definitely get the Duck if you go... really really awesome.
